The Personal Story of Suly Chenkin

In 1944, at the age of three, Suly Chenkin was smuggled out of the Kovno Ghetto in a potato sack.  Suly will share her amazing tale of survival at the annual community Yom Hashoah memorial service.

The event is open to all and free of charge.

Winners of the 11th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Essay Contest will be announced and awarded prizes at the commemoration.  The essay contest, sponsored by the Penny Daum Aldrich Endowment Fund for Holocaust Remembrance, is open to high school students.  Details of the contest are available at www.holocaustspeakersbureau.org/contests.html.
