Summering in the North Carolina Mountains of Yesteryear

For those of us with memories of heading to upstate New York for summer camps and resort vacations, you’ll be pleased to know that North Carolina was once home to its own “Southern Catskills.”  Jews from across the southeast colonized Hendersonville every summer to enoy its cool mountain breezes and stunning scenery—and to be with other Jews.
